YORKTON, Saskatchewan, Canada — SecurTek Monitoring Solutions Inc. will buy about 1,300 accounts from four Canadian monitoring providers for roughly $1.1 million, the company announced today.
SecurTek will purchase 151 customer accounts from Detect Security; 296 accounts from Astro systems; 225 accounts from AE Security and 631 accounts from Armax Security. About 70-percent of the accounts are residential customers, SaskTel Communications Manager Andy Tate tells SSI.
"Two of the companies were looking to sell their accounts" he says. "We were providing wholesale monitoring services for Astro Systems and AE Security. Our dealer program provides options for those looking to sell, retire or generate cash flow."
SecurTek does not compete with its dealers because it doesn't have its own sales or installation teams, Tate says.
The company will offer its managed home automation solution, which helps customers reduce energy consumption, says Tate. Additionally, the company provides video verification and monitoring solutions and wireless and personal emergency response services.
Tate adds that SecurTek is actively acquiring accounts throughout Canada and the United States.
