CORONA, Calif. — Mace Central Station (CS) will monitor an additional 20,000 accounts from more than 70 dealers with the purchase The Command Center Inc. (TCCI), a wholesale central station based here.

The acquisition will allow the company to expand its business into California's Inland Empire area, Mace Security Int'l (MSI) CEO Dennis Raefield tells SSI. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

This is the first expansion for the Anaheim, Calif.-based central station since MSI acquired it in 2009. "The [TCCI] acquisition resulted from a plan we had previously announced in a shareholder's conference," says Raefield. "We wanted to expand on our central station offerings because it has a lot more capacity to grow. We have a lot of capital equipment infrastructure in place to be able to expand."

Mace CS will now offer clients of the UL-Listed central station services such as remote video monitoring, two-way audio, GPS and other advanced services, says Raefield.

"TCCI customers are really going to get an upgrade in services, especially with our dealer portal," he says. "We're using Secure Global Solutions' stagesTM software as our portal that our dealers use. Dealers can log on, manage and run reports directly. These dealers will get discounted prices on Mace security products as well because they're in the family."

Operations will continue in the Corona central station. As part of the company's continuing strategy to expand its wholesale central station business, Mace will continue to seek "quality acquisitions that deliver good customer service," says Raefield.
