IRVING, Texas — With a goal of helping consumers find local electronic security providers, the Electronic Security Association (ESA) has re-launched its alarm.org Web site, the group announced today at ESX.
"One of the most significant and highly visible ways we communicated to our members and general public is over the Internet. ESA needed to sharpen the focus of alarm.org to make it more consumer-friendly," ESA President Dom D'Ascoli tells SSI.
Featuring a clean, uncluttered design, the new site allows end users to locate an ESA member company in their neighborhoods by entering their zip codes.
Among its educational features, the site includes frequently updated safety tips that move across the screen. In the "Police & Fire Chief's Corner" section, homeowners can receive advice from law enforcement and fire officials on how to prevent false alarms, as well as access other alarm management tips. Consumers can also learn about new security technologies.
"The vision for the new site is to become the 'go to' resource for consumers needing information about security," says D'Ascoli. "We're excited to offer them a highly organized and easy to access site to help them make informed decisions about their security needs."
