Vector Security President Earns CSAA’s Lott Award

VENICE, Italy — During the Central Station Alarm Association's (CSAA) Annual Meeting on Oct. 14-19 here, the group awarded Vector Security President Pam Petrow with the Stanley C. Lott Award. The accolade is CSAA's top honor.

Petrow, who became president of Vector Security in 2010, has worked for the company since 1982. During her career, Petrow helped the company to earn CSAA's Central Station of the Year Award in 2006. That same year, Vector earned the industry's first Police Dispatch Quality Award (PDQ) after Petrow and her team launched a 12-step plan to minimize false alarm dispatches.

Petrow has served as a member of CSAA's Executive Committee since 2009 and was recently appointed its second vice president. She is the current chair of the association's Marketing and Communications committee and has previously co-chaired CSAA's Education Committee.

"Pam has been a tireless supporter of CSAA," Immediate Past President Ed Bonifas says. "As a leader on CSAA's Education Committee, Pam spearheaded our online training program, which has just seen its 10,000th student. She was also the driver for the start-up of CSAA's Fall Operations Management Seminar, now one of the industry's biggest user-group meetings. CSAA could use a few more like her."

Petrow is credited for playing a major role in implementing the Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP) program for public safety answering points (PSAPs). ASAP is a computer-aided dispatch system designed by CSAA and the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO Int'l).

"Most notably, she has been instrumental in developing, testing, and implementing the program with APCO," Bonifas says. "In 2009, she was presented with APCO's highest honor — its President's Award — the first person outside of the 911 community to win this award."
