MELVILLE, N.Y. — Honeywell announced today that Scott Harkins will lead Honeywell Security Group's (HSG) products unit. He replaces JoAnna Sohovich, who resigned as president of Honeywell Security & Communications last week.
Harkins has worked for Honeywell since 1995. As vice president and general manager of Honeywell Systems, he ran the company's video surveillance and access control divisions. In his new role, Harkins will manage the company's intrusion portfolio, including ADEMCO security systems, AlarmNet radio communications and Total Connect remote services. He will also be responsible for the First Alert Professional dealer program.
Harkins, who helped introduce the MAXPRO video management system (VMS) platform, NetAXS-123 access control system and the Honeywell software development kit (HSDK), will report to HSG President Ron Rothman.
"Scott has broad experience in every facet of security," Rothman says. "That will help us to further deliver on the real potential of systems integration."
For his part, Harkins wants to help broaden Honeywell's technology offering.
"We've seen dramatic shifts in security technology over the last few years that have greatly changed the way the industry does business," he says. "I'm looking forward to helping our company continue this legacy and providing the tools and resources our customers need to help drive this industry forward."
