WOODBURY, N.Y. — Tri-Ed/Northern Video Distribution acquired wholesale distributor Security General Int’l (SGI) today for an undisclosed amount.
Headquartered in San Antonio, SGI distributes security and low-voltage products in the southwestern United States. As part of the transaction, Tri-Ed/Northern will continue to operate SGI’s 13 branches. The acquisition also helps the company expand its footprint throughout California, New Mexico and Texas.
The deal is in line with Tri-Ed/Northern Video’s “buy and build” growth strategy. Earlier this year, the company, which was acquired by private equity firm Audax Group in April, purchased Seabreeze Security Distributors of Winter Park, Fla. Additionally, the wholesale distributor opened new branch offices in Detroit and Raleigh, N.C.
“We are very excited about our expansion in the Southwest market, and serving our growing customer base there,” Tri-Ed/Northern Video President and CEO Pat Comunale says. “We welcome the entire SGI staff to the Tri-Ed / Northern Video team and look forward to meeting and exceeding the expectations of security professionals in our new locations.”
