EAGLE RIVER, Wis. — At the close of 2012, Per Mar Security Services purchased Ogren Electronics of Eagle River, Wis., for an undisclosed amount.

The acquisition, completed Dec. 6, adds 250 accounts to the firm’s customer base, allowing Per Mar to enter a new vertical market, according to Brad Tolliver, vice president of Per Mar.

“The deal gives us an opportunity to sell interactive services and home automation for seasonal homes in the community,” he tells SSI. “The customer base will roll nicely into our existing northern Wisconsin customer base.”

Owned and operated by Terra Nova, Ogren Electronics offered full electronic security including access control, CCTV, fire and intrusion alarm systems. To provide Ogren Electronics’ former customers with quality service, Per Mar will move the operation into its existing Wausau, Wis., office. Additionally, the company has retained an experienced technician from Ogren Electronics to help the transition flow smoothly, Tolliver says.

The latest acquisition is the second deal for Per Mar within a span of a month. While Tolliver declined to release how much recurring monthly revenue (RMR) the deal brings in, he notes the company will continue to look for acquisition targets that fit into Per Mar’s 2013 strategic growth plans.

“We are focused on expanding our services to our existing customer base,” he says. “We also want to grow our sales initiatives in the markets we serve with new and innovative technology such as cloud-based video storage and interactive services, in addition to our core RMR focus.”

Founded in 1953, Per Mar operates 20 locations throughout Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Nebraska, along with its own UL-Listed, FM-approved central station.
