NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Electronic Security Expo (ESX) has named Roy Spence, co-founder and chairman of GSD&M, an Austin-based marketing and advertising agency, as its 2013 keynote speaker.
Known as the “Ad Man of the Year” and the “Idea Man of the Century,” Spence will address ESX attendees during the keynote luncheon. Sponsored by Security America Risk Retention Group (SARRG), the luncheon will take place June 19 at 11:45 a.m. at Nashville’s new Music City Center.
Through his leadership, Spence has helped GSD&M grow some of the nation’s most successful brands, including Southwest Airlines, Wal-Mart, DreamWorks, the PGA Tour, BMW, the U.S. Air Force, LL Bean, the Clinton Global Initiative and “Don’t Mess with Texas,” a trademark of the Texas Department of Transportation. An advisor for many top leaders, including former President Bill Clinton, Spence will discuss finding a business’ purpose, the importance of entrepreneurship, and following dreams and passions during his keynote address.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Roy Spence as this year’s featured keynote speaker,” ESX Chair George De Marco says. “Inspiring and changing leaders in every sector, Roy gets owners and executives to think differently about leadership, branding and a company’s true purpose.”
