Fire life safety companies
Simplex and
Grinnell Fire Protection have merged into
SimplexGrinnell to offer customers an array of systems and services that protect people and property and improve workforce management. The newly unified company will have a services organization of more than 10,000 technicians, installers and other professionals and a network of company-owned branch offices to deliver systems and services at the local level.
"SimplexGrinnell will set a new standard in the fire and life safety industry," says Michael Buchanan, who is slated to become president of the new company. "We have combined the strength and complementary capabilities of two companies into a unified organization that's without peer in the breadth of its product offerings and the ability to meet the needs and expectations of customers."
Serving North America, SimplexGrinnell will offer fire, life safety and integrated SimplexGrinnell(tm) systems and services, such as: fire detection and alarm systems; fire sprinkler systems; integrated systems that link access control, CCTV and fire; health care communication systems; sound intercom and telephone systems; and time and workforce management systems. The newly unified company will operate under the umbrella of Tyco Fire and Security Services.
The formation of SimplexGrinnell follows the Jan. 5 acquisition of Simplex by Tyco Int'l Ltd., a diversified manufacturing and service company.
