The Fire Department of New York City Fire Department (FDNY)
has tipped its helmets to Honeywell’s Fire Systems Group.
The department’s Fire Safety Education Fund has named
Honeywell one of the recipients of the annual FDNY Fire
Commissioner’s Humanitarian Awards.
The award, announced at an awards dinner April 21, honors
major leaders who have made a significant commitment to New
York City firefighting and fire safety and prevention.
Honeywell was honored for its diversified manufacturing and
technology programs.
“The FDNY Fire Safety Education Fund offers some amazing
programs to the community,” Honeywell Fire Systems Group
President Allen Fritts said as he accepted the award. “We
are proud to be honored by this dedicated group of
people.”
The FDNY Fire Safety Education Fund promotes public
awareness programs designed to reduce the incidence of
serious fires and fire fatalities. Past recipients of the
Humanitarian Award have included former New York Mayor
Rudy Giuliani, Toys R Us Chairman and CEO John Eyler and
former FDNY Fire Commissioner Thomas Von Essen.
“We applaud Honeywell Fire Systems for their outstanding
