Fire-Lite Alarms by Honeywell is continuing its fire alarm training series free of charge across the United States. The coursework covers a range of technical information, including installation, programming and troubleshooting.
Featured are hands-on exercises that use the latest fire alarm control and IP communication products from Fire-Lite Alarms.
“Properly trained employees perform their duties more efficiently and with less difficulty than their untrained counterparts,” Honeywell Fire Systems’ Director of Training Jeff Behuniak tells SSI. “The result is a more profitable fire alarm dealer with a higher number of satisfied customers. The Fire-Lite Academies are a great introduction to security dealers considering the addition of fire alarm-related services.”
Several training classes are still available for the remainder of the year:
- Portland — Oct. 27-29
- Dallas — Nov. 4-5
- Cleveland — Nov. 3-5
- Jacksonville, Fla. — Nov. 10-12
- Northford, Conn. — Nov. 17-19
- Memphis, Tenn. — Nov. 17-10
- Miami — Dec. 1-3
According to, Tom Rosa, Fire-Lite Alarms’ instructional curriculum developer and senior technical trainer, course enrollment is higher than ever.
“The high level of instruction combined with many hands-on labs is very unusual for a free class,” says Rosa. “Many are coming to learn more about addressable systems and move away from conventional technology. Others are looking for additional hands-on training with the panels and our new IP Communicator.”
