Business in this market rose 7 percent (from 168 in 2009) to buck a troubling trend that had seen ground lost five of the previous six years. However, the 180 average is half of what it was in just three years ago and represents the second lowest point in more than 10 years. This market has plummeted 78 percent since its peak in 2003. Overall, about 79 percent of all installing companies average fewer than 20 intrusion alarm systems per month. Small companies (annual revenues less than $1 million) average 108 projects per year.
