Police Dispatch Quality Award Has New Sponsor

May 25, 2011 | Comments (0) | Post a comment

FRISCO, Texas — The Installation Quality (IQ) Certification Program is now a sponsor of the Police Dispatch Quality (PDQ) award. Other sponsors include the Security Industry Alarm Coalition (SIAC), False Alarm Reduction Association (FARA), SECURITY SALES & INTEGRATION and Honeywell Security.

"The IQ program and their members subscribe to practices that match our effort to reduce alarm dispatches," says SIAC Executive Director Stan Martin. "IQ's involvement with the PDQ award shows that quality installations go hand-in-hand with superior alarm management practices."

Launched in 2005, the PDQ Award honors a security company that promotes a complete effort to reduce false alarms. That includes employing enhanced call verification (ECV), training installers and customers, and working with law enforcement.

"We are proud to be connected with this award," says IQ Chair Tim Creenan. "A properly installed system, along with thorough user training, radically reduces false dispatches. We want to recognize companies that use these standards not only with the IQ Certification, but also through the PDQ program."

IQ's award sponsorship will commence for the 2011 PDQ award. This year's ceremony will take place at the 2011 ESX in Charlotte, N.C., on June 7. The winner will be awarded $1,000 along with being featured in an upcoming issue of SSI.
