Honeywell VeriLock Sensor Technology

Honeywell of Melville, N.Y., unveils the VeriLock sensor technology, which embeds in Honeywell's 5800 Series of wireless sensors inside the locking mechanisms of a select group of windows and patio doors manufactured by Eagle Window & Door Manufacturing Inc., a subsidiary of Andersen Corp. of North Bayport, Minn. The system alerts homeowners if their windows or doors are unlocked.

VeriLock sensors will initially be available on Eagle Axiom casement and awning windows, Talon double-hung windows, and Ascent hinged French patio doors and sliding patio doors. Ideal for single-family homes, multi-unit light commercial dwellings such as assisted-living complexes and remodel projects, the VeriLock sensor technology can help reduce home energy use, according to the company.

The VeriLock sensor technology is available Jan. 1 on Eagle products from select Andersen window and door dealers in North America.

Cool technology, too bad they can integrate with other window mfg's. I wonder if this can be used existing Anderson windows.

Looks like a nice product. I stubled upon a product called Secuyou, which is a wireless locksystem for patio doors and windows. The locksystem also tells you if a patio door or a window is open, and it also locks the doors or windows. See more on their website: http://www.secuyou.com
