Securitas Systems AB, a global security systems integrator, has signed a partner agreement with Milestone Systems of Beaverton, Ore., a provider of software for the security industry. As an authorized Milestone reseller, Securitas intends to offer the XProtect IP video surveillance software to the firm’s clientele. The gain for Securitas customers is greater efficiency and effectiveness in the operation of their security systems.
“Milestone Systems sees a great opportunity to work with Securitas Systems, one of the leading security systems integrators. Their vast network of installed customers will want only the best in their transition from analog to digital implementations — and that is the way of the future,” says Mads Bo Frederiksen, vice president of sales with Milestone Systems.
According to Securitas, the open architecture of the XProtect software allows integration with other security subsystems, such as access control and video surveillance. Milestone’s software solution is already equipped to accommodate and support more than 200 equipment models now available from more than 30 manufacturers.
“Securitas Systems wants to embrace IP technology for video surveillance and, therefore, chose Milestone Systems. Their XProtect software is an open platform from which we can build the best-of-breed security solutions for our customers, to reap many benefits from interoperability with our other security offerings,” says Per Edsmar, marketing manager with Securitas.
