JVC, Milestone Partner to Expand IP Security Systems

LAS VEGAS

JVC Professional has announced its agreement with open platform IP video surveillance software provider Milestone Systems to strengthen both companies' IP security systems business and expand into global markets. This relationship is designed to provide users with IP security systems that deliver added value while contributing to public safety and security.

Since 2005, JVC has worked with Milestone Systems to market its XProtect IP video management software in European markets. Under this agreement, JVC is combining Milestone’s software with its own hardware technology resulting in a standalone IP network video recorder (NVR) and management solution.

Introduced at ISC West, the VR-N900U NVR is JVC’s first offering with embedded management software based on Milestone’s XProtect™ application. It is a fully integrated standalone NVR, recording images from both analog and IP cameras to enable the gradual upgrade of an existing system to a digital IP network.

The VR-N900U will be a central component for standalone IP security systems that will enable recording, viewing and searching images from IP cameras without having to use a separate PC.
