5 New Members Join HDcctv Alliance

March 17, 2010 | Comments (0) | Post a comment

HDcctv Alliance announces five new members have joined its ranks and will incorporate the organization’s high definition video surveillance standard (HDcctv Interoperability Specification 1.0). The newest members are Analog Devices, Cop UK, Pacific Corp., UFINE and Win4Net.

HDcctv-based systems transmit HDTV signals digitally over conventional CCTV media without packetization and without any perceivable compression latency, according to the organization. The HDcctv Alliance has partnered with SMPTE to reference the family of broadcast video interfaces known as HD-SDI to create a derivative standard to enable plug-and-play security systems and equipment that deliver high-resolution, HD surveillance video with no transmission delays, no image artifacts from transmission, with the highest possible signal integrity.

Attendees to ISC West in Las Vegas, held March 24-26, can learn more about the Alliance at its booth (No. 42001) on the show floor.

Also of note at ISC West, SSI Editor-in-Chief Scott Goldfine will moderate a session panel titled “High Definition Surveillance: A Clearer Picture” March 24, 4 p.m., in rooms AD04/CS04. Panelists will include Todd Rockoff, executive director of the HDcctv Alliance; plus, Scott Schafer, executive vice president, Arecont Vision; Sara Scroggins, senior product marketing manager, Imaging Systems, Pelco; and Steve Surfaro, business development manager, Industry Liaison, Axis Communications.
