Pelco IP Platform Upgrade

While Clovis, Calif.-based Pelco’s flagship Endura video security system has been around for a few years, it has received a platformwide upgrade. The main impetus is incorporating megapixel video compatibility, but there are other surprises packed in as well.

With the switch to serial attached SCSI hard drives, recording performance has increased while price has dramatically decreased. Another big change is network simplicity, with the network requirements for all but the biggest enterprise systems being reduced. This makes it more appropriate for small- to midsized installations than it used to be. Plus the system now accepts third-party IP cameras.
