ASIS Names 1st Non-U.S. President of Organization

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — ASIS Int'l has appointed Eduard J. Emde, CPP, as president of the organization. Emde, a native of the Netherlands, is the first non-U.S. practitioner to serve as president of ASIS.

Emde has more than 20 years of experience in security and security risk management. Currently the principal consultant for BMKISS Europe, an independent security support organization based in the Netherlands, he formerly served as head of safety and security at the European Space Agency's European Space Research and Technology Centre. He also served as a security consultant with KPMG's Forensic & Integrity Services and as vice president of group security with ABN AMRO Bank.

In addition, Emde has served on the boards of various associations in the field of risk management and security, including the Dutch Society for Risk Management.
