Cameras At Arkansas School Improve Security

ROGERS, Ark.

Officials at Elmwood Junior High School in Rogers, Ark.,
are finding its new surveillance system has been helpful in
curbing student violence.

Last year, 32 cameras were installed throughout the
facility. Since then, the cameras have videotaped children
engaging in fights and other inappropriate behavior. One
camera even caught a student lighting a bottle rocket.

The school’s resource officer credits the new system with
increasing security and reducing crime on campus. The
cameras keep an eye on students when teachers or
administrators are not present.
