NBFAA Appoints Mike Miller as New President

IRVING, Texas

The National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association’s (NBFAA) 2008 Executive Committee has elected and sworn in Mike Miller as the new NBFAA president. The elections took place at the association’s general membership meeting held in conjunction with the Electronic Security Expo (ESX). The new term began July 1.

Miller, a SECURITY SALES & INTEGRATION editorial advisory board member, is vice president and co-owner of Moon Security Services Inc. of Pasco, Wash. He has been an industry executive for more than 30 years. His involvement with NBFAA includes past chair and co-chair of the public relations, false alarm, budget and investment committees.

Miller served NBFAA as treasurer from 2000 through 2001 and from 2005 through June, 2007. He is the 2005 recipient of the NBFAA’s Sarah E. Jackson Memorial Award. His industry involvement at the state level includes serving as president and past president of the Washington Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (WBFAA).

As the 38th president of the NBFAA, Miller says his immediate goal “is to ensure that our legacy continues and that we mentor new leaders and work with our chapters to help our members prosper and grow.”

Miller is also challenging all members of the association and the industry to work alongside public safety partners and continue to protect and to serve.

“We have to make sure we are continuing to work with police and fire officials on dealing with our alarm management programs,” Miller tells SSI. “We need to get the message out that we are life-safety partners in working to reduce crime in our communities.”
