Avigilon to Open 3 ‘Centers of Excellence’ to Support R&D Efforts

The new facilities will be located at Avigilon’s offices in Vancouver, Boston and Dallas.

VANCOUVER, B.C., Canada – Avigilon Corp. said a new initiative in support of its research and development efforts will result in launching three new facilities at its North American offices.

Avigilon’s global headquarters, located here, will serve as the company’s Video and Enterprise Security Center of Excellence. Boston, home to many of the world’s leading university engineering and research programs, will serve as the Analytics and Data Sciences Center of Excellence. Dallas, one of the top U.S. markets for emerging technology, will host Avigilon’s Customer Experience and Ecosystem Center of Excellence. As part of this initiative, Avigilon will be expanding its presence in Boston and opening a new technology center in Dallas.

“The Centers of Excellence position us to expand our leadership in the industry,” Avigilon COO and Executive Vice President Bryan Schmode said in a press release. “We will accelerate the execution of our strategic vision by further leveraging the deep talent pools in these key locations.”

The initiative will be implemented under the leadership of Avigilon’s CTO and Senior Vice President Dr. Mahesh Saptharishi. Saptharishi is responsible for driving innovation in Avigilon’s product and intellectual property portfolios, identifying strategic technology capabilities and exploring new business opportunities.
