ESA’s Young Security Professionals to Host Fall Forum at ASIS 2013

CHICAGO —The Young Security Professionals (YSP) group, a consortium of Electronic Security Association (ESA) members between the ages of 25 and 45, will host its annual Fall Forum, Sept. 23-25 at the Allerton Hotel in Chicago.

For the event, which coincides with ASIS 2013, YSP has partnered with the ESA Executive Management Professionals (EMP) to create networking opportunities, interactive sessions and educational workshops during the event. Workshops will cover topics such as family business/succession and general business management/leadership. Participants will also attend breakout sessions specially tailored to the individual professional groups, as well as qualify for ESA’s National Training School (NTS) continuing education units (CEUs).

YSP tapped Dee Ann Harn, CEO of RFI Communications & Security Systems, as the featured speaker during the general session luncheon on Sept. 24. Harn will offer insights into change management and emphasize the impact of change on both the security industry, as well as family-owned businesses. Attendees will learn how to establish a sense of urgency, create a guiding coalition, communicate the vision, generate short-term wins and new approaches in the office culture.

“Engaging workplace change can be an unpredictable experience, because processes and people evolve in diverse ways as they undergo change,” Harn says. No two individuals will respond in exactly the same way to workplace changes. This session will help leaders prepare for change, engage their employees through the change, and drive positive outcomes.”

Additionally, YSP will join the ASIS Int’l Young Professionals for its welcome reception on Sept. 24 at the McCormick Place. Through the partnership, ASIS will extend its member pricing to ESA members so that they may take advantage of the various seminars during ASIS 2013.
