IQ Certification Board Re-elects Officers to 2009 Term

The Installation Quality (IQ) Certification Board has reelected its 2008 officers for the 2009 term. The board also reappointed three public safety directors to one-year terms.

Tim Creenan was reelected as chairperson, Dave Currie as secretary and Deborah Sokol as treasurer. The three public safety directors — Joseph Benoit of the Greenwich Fire Department, Steven Heggemann of the Baltimore County Alarm Reduction Team, and Matt Schue of the Oklahoma State Department of Health Alarm Division — will also serve the 2009 term.

“We have made considerable strides in increasing awareness and adoption of IQ certification thanks to Tim, Dave and Deborah leading the program,” says Dale Eller, executive director of the IQ Certification Program. “In addition, Joseph, Steven and Matt have been integral to the success of the IQ Certification Program in establishing strong relationships with law enforcement, fire and state regulators.”

Creenan has served as president, past president and secretary of the Western New York Alarm Association (WNYAA); has been secretary, treasurer, vice president and president of the New York Burglar & Fire Alarm Association (NYBFAA); and committee chair of the Election Committee of the National Burglar & Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA). He also served for several years as treasurer of the IQ Certification Board.

Currie has served on the IQ Certification Board for more than 10 years and is a founding member of the Canadian Security Association (CANASA).

Sokol was the third woman in the state of Connecticut to be NBFAA Level I certified and is a co-author of the 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 Connecticut CEU courses offered by the Connecticut Alarm & Systems Integrator’s Association (CASIA).
