Manufacturers Unveil Latest Collaborations at ASIS 2013

CHICAGO — Along with a raft of product and technology releases, manufacturers and service providers used ASIS 2013 in Chicago as a launching pad to announce to new partnerships. Following are some of the collaborations that were unveiled during the show.

Access control provider FST21 announced its partnership with video surveillance products manufacturer OnSSI. The collaboration allows OnSSI’s Ocularis video management software (VMS) to receive notifications from FST21’s SafeRise software for increased security and monitoring intelligence.

OnSSI has also integrated its Ocularis solution with Axis Communications’ new A1001 network door controller, allowing critical video and access control data to be displayed side-by-side on the Ocularis platform. Security personnel can now monitor events in real-time, and visually match access cardholders with live images to ascertain identities.

Proximex, part Tyco Security Products, announced the integration of its Surveillint solution with Inovonics’ EchoStream EN6080 area control gateway. The partnership allows users to manage security incidents more efficiently through a centralized view of security activity and improved incident response in buildings or on campuses.

FLIR also revealed its recent alliance with VideoIQ to launch a Site Protection Solution (SPS). The SPS couples FLIR’s high‐contrast thermal video signal with VideoIQ’s adaptive analytics to eliminate nuisance alarms in both perimeter security and wide‐area coverage applications.

March Networks has integrated its 8000 Series NVRs with Sony Electronics’ IPELA ENGINE EX and PRO IP cameras. The agreement provides Sony customers with greater flexibility when selecting a recording platform.

ARES Security announced two partnerships on the show floor. By teaming up with Autodesk, a 3D design software manufacturer, users will have the ability to move 2D and 3D building and site information into ARES Security’s AVERT enterprise security risk assessment solution to model and assess potential threats and security vulnerabilities prior to building facilities.

The firm has also joined forces with Bohemia Interactive Simulations (BISim), which provides simulation technologies for military and civilian security organizations. The partnership allows ARES to integrate its AVERT solution into BISim’s Virtual BattleSpace 2 product, exploiting its gaming visualization technology to provide high-fidelity, real-world simulations.
