Owen Security Solutions Acquires Tight Security Systems
Owens Security extends its operating area in Ellijay, Ga., and across the northwestern region in Georgia.

CALHOUN, Ga. – Owen Security Solutions has acquired Tight Security Systems of Ellijay, Ga., for undisclosed terms.
Scott Bishop, owner and president of Tight Security Systems, established the family-run business in 2000. He grew it to nearly 600 residential and commercial customers, serving Ellijay and northwest Georgia. Bishop has joined the Owen Security Solutions team and will continue to support the Ellijay area.
“We were thrilled about this opportunity to not only acquire a customer base, but to gain a key team member as well. That was the bonus on top,” says Justin Owen, president of Owen Security. “As another family-run business, we were impressed with their reputation and dedication for quality installation and customer service.”
Bishop explains he had not previously considered selling his business, but became intrigued about the potential to do so after meeting with Justin Owen.
“[H]is plans and leadership were impressive. I knew this was going to be the best choice for our customers. We couldn’t have chosen a better customer-serviced based company than Owen Security,” Bishop says.

The Owen Security team is reaching out to Tight customers to assure them the transition will be smooth and that their security systems will experience no interruptions in service.

Owen Security Solutions provides security systems for residential and commercial customers throughout northwest Georgia. The company was founded in 1973 by Gary Owen and has grown to about 30 employees and more than 5,000 accounts with branch offices in Calhoun and Cartersville, Ga. The deal for Tight Security Systems marks the third acquisition for Owen this year. The company acquired the retail alarm accounts of Davis Security Services in September and Medley Systems of Plainville, Ga., in July.
