Per Mar Rebuilds Cedar Rapids Office After Flood
Per Mar Security Systems, headquartered in Davenport, Iowa, is rebuilding its Cedar Rapids branch after the building was destroyed by a flood in July.
The company is operating from a temporary location in Cedar Rapids until the 5,200-square-foot building can be reconstructed. The project is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2009, according to The Gazette.
“With over 350 employees in the Cedar Rapids area, the need for us to rebuild was a simple decision,” Todd Parman, physical security division operations manager for Per Mar Security Services, told the newspaper. “We are part of the Cedar Rapids community and walking away from it because of the flood would show a lack of support to our employees, customers, and community.”
The company is looking into potential flood control options, including the construction of a proposed levee.
