Rothman (Ex-Honeywell) Changes Hats, Joins Integration Firm

Ron Rothman, former president of Honeywell Security Group, takes on a sales executive role with AFA Protective Systems.

SYOSSET, N.Y. – Ron Rothman, former president of Honeywell Security Group, is joining AFA Protective Systems in the role of senior vice president responsible for all sales and business development.

With more than 30 years of experience in the security industry, Rothman brings to AFA a prominent and respected member of the national industry community, says AFA CEO Robert Kleinman.

“Mr. Rothman’s demonstrated ability to both innovate and motivate at top levels will provide the optimum springboard for AFA to maximize its future growth and success,” he says.

Rothman’s decorated resume includes being inducted into the SSI Industry Hall of Fame in 2012, as well being honored with the William N. Moody Award for his dedication to alarm management issues at this year’s Electronic Security Expo (ESX).

Rothman replaced Ben Cornett as president of Honeywell Security Group in 2010 after serving in the same role with Honeywell Security & Communications since 2002. He left Honeywell in January and was replaced by David Paja. Rothman began his career with ADEMCO in the 1980s.

AFA Protective Systems, a super-regional systems integration firm based here, installs, services and monitors fire alarm and intrusion systems. The company staffs about 20 offices throughout the East Coast and the Southeast.

SSI has requested an interview with Rothman and will provide an update to this story when available.
