SIA Appoints Samsung’s De Fina as Vice Chairman of Board of Directors
The six-member committee is composed of industry professionals who represent a broad spectrum of electronic security interests.
With more than three decades in the professional electronics industry, De Fina currently serves as Samsung’s senior vice president of sales and marketing for North America. In addition to his new role with SIA, De Fina also holds positions on the International Biometrics Industry Association (IBIA). He also serves as a board member for the Paley Center for Media (formerly Museum of Television and Radio) and the New York Friar’s Club Foundation.
In selecting De Fina for the vice chairman position, SIA board members recognized his vision and leadership, as well as his ability to help make SIA a stronger organization, SIA CEO Don Erickson says.
“Frank has provided outstanding service to SIA as a member of the Board of Directors,” he explains. “Now that he is on the SIA Executive Committee, the organization will benefit even more from his incredible knowledge of the industry, insight into emerging trends, and commitment to promoting the overall growth of the electronic physical security sector.”
De Fina believes his appointment has come at an opportune time, as the security trade continues to expand.
“These are exciting times for the electronic security industry in terms of technology development and the expanded vision for its use,” he says. “I am looking forward to serving on the executive committee and helping to steer decisions that will address and fulfill the needs of the security community both now and in the future.”
