SimpliSafe Selects Telit Modules to Enable Cellular Connectivity

DIY specialist offers fully featured wireless security on CDMA and GSM networks with low-cost modules by Telit.

RALEIGH, N.C. – SimpleSafe has chosen Telit Wireless Solutions to provide modules that enable cellular connectivity for its self-installed home security systems.

SimpliSafe uses the Telit 910 series to provide coverage on both CDMA and GSM networks for complete nationwide coverage. The cellular module is embedded in the system’s plug-and-play base station, which monitors and controls up to 41 wireless sensors. It utilizes the same cellular technology as a cell phone and instantly sends alarm alerts to SimpliSafe whenever a security system is triggered, according to the company.

SimpliSafe’s cellular module is hidden in its discreet base station, which stays quiet until it alerts the monitoring service. Telit’s low-cost modules enable SimpliSafe to include this advanced feature in every system at no additional cost to end users, according to the company.

Notebooks or smartphones can be used to monitor the home environment and also to arm or disarm the system.
