Surveillance Systems Inc. Launches Cybersecurity Division
The integrator will now offer services to combat malicious backdoor access, denial-of-service attacks, IP spoofing and other data-breach threats.
ROCKLIN, Calif. – Surveillance Systems Inc. has launched a new division, SSI Threat Protect, to help defend against cybersecurity attacks. The new division will provide service solutions with consultation, management and remediation for the security of customer networks.
“SSI has a strong track record of over 20-plus years of experience protecting businesses from criminal activity with cutting-edge system design engineering, project management and system implementation for physical infrastructure, so cybersecurity was a natural next step,” says Todd Flowers, president of SSI. “With the launch of SSI Threat Protect, we now offer services that aim to protect our clients’ technology infrastructure as another layer of security to help IoT [Internet of Things] devices.”
Increasingly, organizations are realizing that their investment in technology to improve operational efficiencies have left them vulnerable to security attacks on their networks. As more and more equipment and devices are being connected to the cloud, they become targets for cyber threats.
IoT devices include computers, routers and switches, IP security cameras, printers, thermostats, among other connected devices. Threat Protect adds a line of defense against vulnerabilities related to malicious backdoor access, denial-of-service attacks, malicious eavesdropping, IP spoofing, data loss, malware, ransomware and other threats. When an intrusion is identified, SSI Threat Protect prioritizes and responds quickly to assist in threat remediation, according to the company.
“Much like our other systems, Threat Protect can be added to legacy networks, adding a dual layer of protection for your prior technology investment,” Flowers says.
Established in 2002, SSI offers surveillance integration expertise in four target markets: casino, government, retail and commercial.
