DIY Firm Partners With InstallerNet to Deploy Solutions for Customers

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. — Swann Security, a video security products provider, has teamed up with Boston-based InstallerNet, an installation solutions company for the consumer and commercial electronics industry, to provide nationwide installation services for Swann’s residential and commercial video surveillance product line.

Primarily known as a do-it-yourself solutions company, the Swann product line includes wired and wireless IP security cameras, DVR-based surveillance systems, intrusion alarms and door phone intercoms. Realizing that some customers don’t want to install security systems on their own prompted Swann to work with InstallerNet, according to Guy Pitchie, vice president of sales, Swann Communications USA.

“Our market research tells us there is untapped demand for our products from people that don’t have the time or perceive they don’t have the skill to ‘do-it-themselves,’” he says. “InstallerNet will help us reach out to those consumers.”

The new partnership allows Swann customers instant access to installation support through InstallerNet’s nationwide network of certified installers. InstallerNet representatives will schedule installations and choose a local installing contractor to perform the job for Swann customers. Additionally, the installation company will track each project.

Electronic security contractors will tailor services to meet specific customer requirements, which may include hardware setup, camera mounting and cable runs. Other services include network connectivity and configuration of remote viewing over the Internet or smartphones.

“We’re excited to support Swann’s go-to-market strategy and become the installation provider of their security and surveillance solutions,” says Bill Ali, senior vice president of sales and marketing, InstallerNet. “This is a partnership we have been looking forward to for a long time.”

InstallerNet also serves as the preferred professional installation provider for Verizon’s home monitoring and control service, according to its Web site.
