The Ultimate Guide to ISC West 2017

Delve into SSI ‘s overview of the annual conference to learn about the educational offerings, networking events, among other activities to help plan your itinerary.

Co-Located, Themed Exhibit Spaces at ISC West

The 49th annual conference will ceremoniously commence at the exhibit hall entrance at 9:45 a.m. (April 5) with a ribbon-cutting presentation and confetti blast. Attendees will begin entering the exhibit hall at 10 a.m. Set among the vast collection of vendor booths will be themed co-located exhibit spaces. Here’s a glance:

New for this year, the Unmanned Security Expo will focus on drones, unmanned ground robotics & vehicles (UGVs), plus various software and applications that support these burgeoning technologies.

Robolliance, a forum for technology partners and industry experts in robotics, surveillance and security, is one of the four primary supporters of the Unmanned Security Expo. The exhibition space will include a fully functional flight cage and robotics demonstration area.

Vendors that are representative of the latest robotic technology for security will be showcased and some will participate in free exhibit floor educational sessions. SIA Education@ISC courses include such titles as “How Drones and Video Technology are Redefining Situational Awareness” and “Hacker Drones are Enabling a New Security Threat Vector.”

The Connected Home, of which Security Sales & Integration will serve as the premier media sponsor, will feature vendors and service providers that specialize in the smart home.

Here is where you can see up close the latest in home controls and how security, lighting, thermostats, appliances, entertainment and other systems connect. Reed Exhibitions is bringing back the Connected Security Expo for the second consecutive year.

Whereas the inaugural expo maintained a separate show floor and conference program, the 2017 installment will take place within the ISC West Exhibit Hall and include dedicated education tracks within the SIA Education@ISC conference program.

The content is programmed by a Connected Security Expo advisory board comprised of industry experts, including the aforementioned Rosenquist of Intel.

“The ‘connecting’ of Connected Security Expo to ISC West is in response to direct feedback from last year’s attendees,” says Ed Several, senior vice president, Reed Exhibitions. “Feedback from last year’s event was overwhelmingly positive from attendees, but as physical and IT security merge, it makes sense to keep this complementary content closer in physical proximity at the show.”

The Public Security & Safety Expo returns to offer a targeted, networking-driven exhibit space. Manufacturers and service providers in the public and private sectors will comingle with security professionals who are responsible for the public’s security in municipalities, homeland security and their infrastructures.

The exposition will focus on products and content in law enforcement; urban security; campus and institutional security; transportation and infrastructure. Vendors serving these sectors will showcase products and services specifically to targeted buyers for each segment, as well as to the many thousands of industry professionals in attendance.

The Global Expo was originated by Reed Exhibitions to better serve the growing community of international exhibitors, as well as address feedback from attendee buyers. This has resulted in a strategy to highlight and showcase all overseas exhibitors with an exclusive and dedicated hall within the Sands Expo Center.

Buyers entering the Global Expo will be there because they are seeking out international vendors and products, according to Reed, providing a much more efficient way of seeking out and evaluating products.
