Toshiba G5 DVR
The G5 Series of digital video recorders (DVRs) by Toshiba Surveillance & IP Video of Irvine, Calif., employ Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 processors, which doubles the performance of previous generation recorders, according to the company.
Using Microsoft Windows 7 as its operating system, the product also incorporates a DVI and HDMI monitor output for dual monitor output to large panel displays, and eSATA and USB3.0 ports for external storage. eSATA has transfer speeds of 3GB and USB3.0 has speeds of 5GB — 10x faster than USB 2.0 speeds of 480MBs.
The G5 Series comes in four models, including:
DVSe Hybrid video server: Available in eight to 32 channels, this model offers up to 8TB storage and full hybrid recording for analog and IP cameras. It comes pre-configured to allow hard drive disk (HDD) storage expansion in the field. It is capable of recording at speeds of up to 480 pictures per second and features H.264, MPEG4 and MJPEG compression codecs.
NVSe IP video server: Recording up to 64 IP cameras both locally and globally, it will record image resolutions as high as the network camera supports, according to the company. The NVSe model also comes with internal RAID 5 capability.
XVSe Hybrid video server: Providing full hybrid channels and up to 6TB of internal HDD storage, it supports 240 frames per second (fps) analog recording speeds and features H.264, MPEG4 and MJPEG compression codecs.
IPSe IP video server: Designed to support both video encoders and network cameras, the model is capable of recording at megapixel resolutions and up to 30 PPS per camera, with cameras connected either locally or from remote locations over the Internet.
