B-Safe Security of Delaware Expands Account Base With Acquisition

Regional security provider picks up 415 more accounts.

WILMINGTON, Del. – B-Safe Security, a regional provider of security and fire alarms to Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, completed a transaction to acquire Total Security of Newark, Del.

The deal brings B-Safe about 415 accounts that comprise a 70% residential, 30% commercial mix, along with about $8,000 in recurring monthly revenue. Total Security is owned and operated by Paul Ingrassia who will remain with B-Safe in a sales and service capacity. The Newark office, including two additional employees, will be folded into B-Safe’s Wilmington facility.

B-Safe President Philip Gardner tells SSI the purchase of Total Security, which specializes in custom installed residential and commercial systems, will provide added depth to B-Safe’s operations.

“Total Security was chosen based on the location in regards to our current territory, giving us additional strength where we already have offices and allowing us to expand our commitment to total customer satisfaction,” he says. “[The company] had very low attrition with loyal customers.”

Established in 1978, B-Safe is a Honeywell First Alert Professional dealer. The company maintains a customer base of about 10,000 accounts, providing integrated electronic security and life-safety solutions to businesses, government and homes.
