Cam-Dex Unveils New Technology Center, Celebrates 55 Years in Business

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Systems integrator Cam-Dex Security Corp. has opened a new technology center as part of a recently completed renovation project at its headquarters here.

The technology center allows Cam-Dex to provide customers with hands-on instruction using the security systems installed at their specific facility. The new center includes high definition projection with complete entry to the access control and surveillance system management solutions sold to customers, using the latest technology. It is double the size of the previous training center.

“We’ve made a number of significant investments at Cam-Dex that enables us to provide better service and support to our customers,” says John Krumme, president and CEO of Cam-Dex. “The investments include the new technology center, which can accommodate more people, a redesigned engineering department, new accounting and job costing software, newly remodeled office space, and a towable aerial lift.”

The expanded engineering department allows for the use of the latest Auto-Cad software. Technicians have the capability to create any type of riser-diagram or drawings needed. The aerial lift has increased service response, and helped with installations to better care for customers.

The improvements at Cam-Dex come at the 55th anniversary celebration for the company. When it was first founded, the company sold one product — a check identification solution that photographed grocery store customers to identify people who wrote bad checks. Through the years Cam-Dex has evolved from offering film processing and development of micrographic films to offering CCTV and access control systems. The company also provides ID badging, command and control, intrusion detection, mass notification and metal detection equipment, and integrated systems.

“Cam-Dex has come a long way since it was first started by my great uncle in 1957,” says Krumme. “Today we are proud of how the company has grown and we remain committed to providing a high level of service, solutions and training to our customers. Our success is a result of our dedicated employees.”
