Learn ABCs of 4K Technology at InfoComm 2014

Here are a list of sessions that will be featured at InfoComm 2014 to help electronic security contractors get up to speed on 4K video technology, as well as UltraHD, 3D, and HDBaseT.

Future Technologies, Smart Display Interfaces: The Next Generation and Wireless AV

Tuesday, June 17, 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
The next wave of ‘smart’ display/audio interfaces are here. From Thunderbolt to HDBaseT, HDMI 2.0 and DisplayStream, display interfaces do a lot more than just connect a monitor to a computer. Learn the differences among them and what challenges they all face in connecting high-resolution signals with faster clock rates.

4K Is Here; Are You Ready for It?
Wednesday, June 18, 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m.
4K has arrived, and the infrastructure to support the format is coming together faster than you think. The HDMI standard has been updated to add support for high frame rate 4K, and we’re now seeing 4K demos of the next gen in codecs (HEVC H.265).

In this session, you’ll gain the understanding of UHDTV standards and specifications for image capture and display you need to move 4K content through display interfaces and over networks.

PureLink – UltraHD 4K, 3D, and HDBaseT: What You Must Know to Succeed

Wednesday and Thursday, June 18-19, 3-4:30 p.m.
Industry experts will take you through what information you need to be successful in design and installation of Ultra HD 4K, 3D, and HDBaseT systems. Experience practical and real-world scenarios during the session.

4K: What the Pros Need to Know Today and Tomorrow
Thursday, June 19, 8-10 a.m.
HDBaseT Alliance has commissioned Futuresource Consulting, a U.K.-based research firm, to conduct research into trends that will drive the industry through 2016. This panel discussion will examine the findings of that research and include the views and predictions of professional installers and components manufacturers.

Crestron – 4K Distribution and Streaming Content
Wednesday and Thursday, June 18-19, 8:30-10 a.m.
This session will introduce scalable solutions to distribute 4K signals and stream content. Learn system design considerations and what to avoid for ensuring reliable 4K.
