GE Security Demonstrates Two New Products at ISC West
BRADENTON, Fla. — GE Security announced launch of two new products at ISC West. The SymDec plus 4 is the first DVR in the company’s new line of hybrid products. SmartCom is a residential intercom and entertainment system that blends multi-room audio and intercom capabilities into an integrated system.
GE’s new analog-digital recording platform provides a flexible migration path to IP video recording, while allowing customers to continue to use their extensive existing installed bases of analog equipment. This hybrid functionality allows customers to introduce advanced IP-based functionality to any existing installation, including schools, hospitals, casinos and airports.
According to Robert Siegel, general manager, video and software solutions, GE Security, “With our new hybrid DVR, customers can bridge the gap to digital, enhancing the way they manage their video surveillance networks with new advanced features unavailable in purely analog environments.”
For the homeowner, SmartCom is user-friendly and features a graphical LCD screen that allows the system to display custom room titles and source names. It is also designed to unobtrusively complement a wide range of decorating schemes.
“SmartCom is a first of its kind residential control system that continues to deliver on GE Security’s promise of more and better integrated real-world security solutions,” says Louis Parker, president and CEO, GE Security. “Today, SmartCom integrates multiple advanced entertainment applications into a centralized system that serves as a model for the residential intercom industry.
