Pelco’s Endura Supports 3rd-Party Cameras, Storage

CLOVIS, Calif.—Pelco’s latest version of the Endura IP video surveillance system offers support for third-party IP cameras and third-party storage from manufacturers Arecont, Axis, Panasonic, Sony and IQinVision.

According to the company, the move is part of its commitment toward open and integrated systems. At initial release, the product will support nearly 80 cameras from the manufacturers listed above.

The advancements are made possible by the release of two new Endura system components: the UDI5000 universal device interface and the NSM52000F network storage manager with fiber support, according to Pelco.

“The UDI5000 overcomes the current over-complicated challenges of adding different manufacturers’ IP cameras to a video management system,” says Mitch Fagundes, Pelco product marketing manager. “The Pelco approach removes the headaches of hardware addresses, camera licenses, and difficult set-up.”

The universal device interface includes drivers for a variety of IP cameras and requires no software licenses. The new version of the Endura network storage manager incorporates a fiber channel card to support connections to third-party storage area networks.

“This is a great option for customers who want to enjoy the performance of an Endura IP video system, while taking advantage of their existing storage infrastructure,” Fagundes says.
