Feb 1, 2007, IRVING, TEXAS -- The National Burglar & Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA) will be holding its annual Spring Conference in conjunction with the 2007 ISC West Expo in March. Events include the Leadership Symposium, Golf Without Guilt tournament, the Shootin’ Skeet event, The Evening Event and a new general member session and breakfast, followed by the NBFAA Emerging Technology Forum, which will be open to all ISC attendees.
The biannual Leadership Symposium will feature a chapter workshop, board of directors meeting, committee meetings, member reception and the annual Leadership Awards Luncheon. Held Sunday, March 25 at the Treasure Island Hotel and Casino, the workshop will include a presentation on “Association Leadership 101” led by Mike Horgan, owner of H&S Protection Systems Inc.; a media seminar by David Margulies of the Margulies Communications Group; and a discussion of the NBFAA National Apprenticeship Program presented by Art Webster of Arthur Webster & Associates. The workshop will be followed in the evening by a member reception.
On Monday, March 26, NBFAA will honor its volunteer leaders for their work and support of the industry and the association. The association’s board of directors will also meet that afternoon to discuss key issues and activities.
On Tuesday, March 27, the 4th annual Alarm Industry Research and Educational Foundation (AIREF)/NBFAA Golf Without Guilt tournament will take place at the Revere Golf Club. Event proceeds support AIREF and other NBFAA programs that enhance the growth potential of electronic life safety, security and systems integrators nationwide. Nongolfers can participate in the first-ever Shootin’ Skeet fundraiser at the Las Vegas Gun Club that same day.
The Evening Event at Treasure Island’s Kahunaville takes place later that same Tuesday. It will include hors d’oeuvres and cocktails to help kick off ISC West, which begins the next day. During the event, the Morris F. Weinstock and Sara E. Jackson awards will be presented to two industry individuals.
The NBFAA general member session and breakfast will mark the final event of the week on Thursday, March 29. This free session for current and prospective members is available on a first-come, first-serve basis (registration required).
Following the general member session and breakfast, NBFAA will host its first-ever NBFAA Emerging Technology Forum. It will feature two keynote speakers: Jordan Serlin, president of Cenuco Wireless Division, and Robert Diamond, CEO and co-founder of Xanboo.
