Carole Dougan Retires From Arecont Vision After 31 Years in Industry

The respected security industry veteran will leave her post as vice president of North American sales, allowing her to spend more time with family and friends.

GLENDALE, Calif. – Security industry veteran Carole Dougan has announced her retirement from Arecont Vision where she served as vice president of North American sales.

“Carole joined Arecont Vision six years ago as our vice president of strategic accounts for the Americas. She did an excellent job building our business with our top distributors and systems integrators based in the [United States],” Arecont Vision Executive Vice President Scott Schafer said in a prepared statement.

Dougan was promoted to vice president of North American sales in 2012. She is credited with building a strong sales organization that brought many new field salespeople to Arecont who are contributing to the company’s success, Schafer said. North American sales are on plan for the first half of 2016, achieving significant year-to-date growth over the same period in the preceding year, according to the company.

“I leave Arecont Vision feeling very thankful,” Dougan said. “Being a part of this company has allowed me to grow both professionally and personally, working with an outstanding group of people and offering industry-leading products and support. It is now time for me to play a larger role in the lives of my spouse, my stepchildren and grandchildren, my family in New York, and my circle of friends.”

Dougan’s 40-year professional career includes more than 31 years in the security industry. She formerly served as Pelco’s director of strategic accounts. Dougan also spent several years in territory, national account and engineered systems design and sales with ADT in San Francisco and with Securus Inc. in Denver.

During her tenure with Arecont Vision, the megapixel technology leader won significant channel partner awards and industry recognition in North America. In 2012, Dougan was named Woman of the Year in the manufacturer category by the Women’s Security Council.

“Carole and I have worked together for 12 years at both Arecont Vision and in previous assignments, and I will miss working with her going forward. She was someone we could always count on,” Schafer said.  “I do know how excited Carole is about the next stage of her life, and that all of us at Arecont Vision wish her the best in the future.”

Arecont Vision also announced two sales directors were promoted to regional vice president positions in its North American sales organization. Kyle Parker, North American sales, West, joined the company as sales director, North Central region, in 2013. Chris Sessa, North America sales, East, joined Arecont Vision in 2009 as sales director for the eastern region.
