ESA Leadership Summit Adds Cybersecurity Seminar Speaker

Matthew H. Meade will discuss data security, how it affects security professionals and what they need to know to be prepared for data security challenges.

IRVING, Texas – The Electronic Security Association (ESA) announces that cybersecurity expert Matthew H. Meade will speak at the ESA Leadership Summit, scheduled for Jan. 31- Feb. 3 in Chandler, Ariz.

Meade will discuss (Feb. 2, 2:45 p.m.) data security, how it affects security professionals and what they need to know to be prepared for data security challenges.

Meade is an attorney with Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC and is co-chair of the firm’s Cybersecurity and Data Protection Group where he provides advice regarding data security breaches, information and records management and other areas regarding privacy. He helps clients identify business risks associated with the use and storage of sensitive information. Meade regularly advises clients on security breach notification laws and other U.S. state and federal data security requirements, including laws regarding disposal of records. Meade drafts agreements addressing issues related to data use, privacy and security. He also has prepared document retention and management policies and developed associated training programs.

Meade’s experience ranges from working with the New York office of an international law firm, as an associate at a small Pittsburgh law firm, and developing and implementing comprehensive Internet, intranet, computer and email policies for private and nonprofit businesses.

During his talk, Meade will reference recent high-profile data breaches including some that have impacted the electronic security industry. He will also share information on state data security laws and how they apply to your business, best practices to protect and secure customer and employee data, and steps to help create a culture of cyber security compliance within your organization.

The 2016 Leadership Summit, held at the Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino, will bring together about 300 security industry professionals, according to ESA.
