Samsung Techwin America Appoints Richard Simone as VP of Sales and Marketing

Simone worked for Panasonic for 10 years prior to joining Samsung Techwin America.

NEW YORK — Samsung Techwin America, a video surveillance technology company, announced on Monday the appointment of Richard Simone as the company’s vice president of sales and marketing. In this role, Simone will be responsible for driving Samsung Techwin America’s growth in the consumer video monitoring and security industry.

“Home automation and security is a rapidly growing industry and today’s consumers are increasingly looking to adopt this technology to monitor their homes and businesses,” Simone said. “I’ve long admired Samsung Techwin America’s approach to bolstering this market and I look forward to collaborating on strategic decisions, broadening sales and continuing to grow the business.”

Prior to joining Samsung Techwin America, Simone worked with Panasonic for 10 years, where he rose through the ranks to become vice president of sales and merchandising. During his tenure, Simone successfully spearheaded a series of initiatives that propelled the company to increase market share and drive sales growth within the appliance, entertainment and telephone categories.

Prior to Panasonic, Simone was a buyer at several national retail organizations, including Montgomery Ward, Kmart and Toy’s R’ Us. From 2003 to 2004, Simone served as divisional vice president at OfficeMax, where he oversaw multiple categories within the electronics and technology departments.

“Richard has been instrumental in leading high-profile retail and manufacturing companies in scaling their businesses,” Samsung Techwin America President Soonhong Ahn said. “His sales acumen and industry relationships will be key to positioning Samsung Techwin America as the market leader in security and surveillance.”
