Alarm system contracting includes the security survey, needs analysis, recommendations, design, installation, programming, testing, inspection, maintenance, takeovers and UL-Listed central station alarm monitoring of all types of security systems. In addition, alarm contractors have duties regarding their actions and inactions when providing these services, and to that end alarm contractors can be held liable in civil claims filed against them.
These duties depend on many different factors, including, but not limited to, the actual fact pattern of the case and the damages which were alleged to have been sustained by the plaintiff. Conversely, alarm system contractors can be determined not to be a significant proximate cause of the damages sustained based on myriad different factors, including the fact pattern as elaborated to above and/or other issues that can include (but not be limited to) the alarm contractor’s policies, procedures and contracts.
