Abloy Security to Highlight Wares for Critical Infrastructure at ISC West

The featured products include the PROTEC2 CLIQ Connect online access control application and Abloy Super Weather Proof (SWP) padlock.

IRVING, Texas — ABLOY Security, a brand of the ASSA ABLOY Group, will introduce and demonstrate two products at ISC West 2019.

The Abloy PROTEC2 CLIQ Connect is a new online access control application that is said to allow security managers to control the security permissions of a mobile workforce from their smartphones.

“For large utilities with thousands of employees, consultants and contractors accessing remote sites every day, lost or stolen keys no longer pose a threat,” states Jerry Burhans, the U.S. managing director for Abloy Security. “Having intelligent key systems matched to the most weatherproof padlock in the market helps these organizations comply with new physical security standards and federal mandates.”

Abloy PROTEC2 CLIQ combines the best characteristics of mechanical and electronic locks, according to a press release. The remote management system allows user rights to be controlled via the Internet, and lost keys can be deactivated without the need for mechanical rekeying. Both keys and locks provide an audit trail, and the critical components are protected to ensure reliable operation in extreme conditions.

Facility managers can update, amend, revoke or renew access rights remotely from the CLIQ Web Manager software and the latest Bluetooth technology paired with a mobile phone. Mobile workers then simply need to open their CLIQ Connect app for the updated access permissions to be instantly transferred to their programmable CLIQ key via Bluetooth, according to the release.

The Abloy Super Weather Proof (SWP) padlock is a locking solution that provides protection against forcing, picking and vandalism. Case hardened boron steel shackles offer exceptional durability and have successfully passed demanding corrosion tests, according to the release.

The SWP is built to withstand the harshest environmental conditions, according to the company, and also repels all moisture including salt water, dirt, dust and grime. The padlock is said to be well-suited for energy and telecom networks, the mining industry, water utilities, among other critical infrastructure sectors.

ISC West attendees can visit the company at booth #8061.
