Avigilon Shares ASIS 2017 Lineup, Previews New VMS

Avigilon also expects to announce a new technology platform prior to ASIS that is purpose-built for security integrators.

Avigilon Control Centre (ACC) 6.6, featuring Avigilon Appearance Search technology will be on display at ASIS 2017.

DALLAS — Avigilon will be bringing a host of its most innovative solutions to ASIS 2017, including a preview of its newest video management software. SSI spoke to the company to get a sneak peek at what attendees can expect.

What is the top product or offering you are showing off at ASIS 2017, and what makes it unique or special from both security integrator and user perspectives?
Avigilon will be featuring some of our most innovative video, artificial intelligence, video analytics and access control solutions, including a number of new technologies that are expected to be announced closer to the show.

We are excited to preview Avigilon Control Centre (ACC) 6.6, Avigilon’s newest and most advanced video management software featuring Avigilon Appearance Search technology (which can be seen in the video above), a sophisticated deep learning artificial intelligence (AI) search engine that sorts through hours of footage with ease, allowing users to quickly locate a specific person or vehicle of interest across an entire site.

With version 6.6 of ACC, Avigilon Appearance Search technology makes searching for a person even easier by incorporating the unique characteristics of a face to find similar recorded footage of a person across multiple cameras on an entire site. Using deep neural networks for face signatures, this technology is designed to increase the speed and accuracy of investigations by detecting and understanding that it is searching for the same person, even if items such as their clothing change over time.

We will also showcase the new Avigilon H4 IR PTZ camera line, our latest PTZ camera. The H4 IR PTZ incorporates self-learning video analytics and infrared technology to provide broad coverage and exceptional image quality in a range of lighting conditions and environments – even complete darkness – providing users with the detailed evidence needed to effectively respond to security events.

What other products or offerings would you like to highlight, and what are some of qualities that differentiate them in the marketplace?
Avigilon will be previewing our new Unusual Motion Detection (UMD) video analytics technology, an advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technology that brings a new level of automation to surveillance. This technology is designed to continuously learn what typical activity in the scene looks like and focus the operator’s attention on atypical events needing further investigation.

By continuously learning, UMD is able to automatically detect unusual events, such as a vehicle moving in the wrong direction, or a stationary crowd in a public space suddenly being disrupted. This technology enables users to quickly search through volumes of recorded footage with ease, revealing events that might have otherwise been missed.

Avigilon will also be showcasing the latest additions to our H4 platform, including the new H4 Mini Dome, Avigilon’s smallest and most discreet camera within the H4 platform; and the H4 Thermal camera line, which combines thermal imaging with our patented self-learning video analytics for accurate detection in a wide range of environments.

What else is new or noteworthy about the company as the end of 2017 draws near?
Avigilon expects to announce an exciting new technology platform prior to the show that is purpose-built for integrators to help them grow their business faster while providing even greater value to their customers. We will be previewing this new platform at the show.

In addition, Avigilon continues to develop deep learning artificial intelligence (AI) driven technology to change the way people think about and interact with their video surveillance systems. We continue to expand our video analytics capabilities with advanced technologies like Avigilon Appearance Search technology, which can help customers gain powerful insights for effective decision making.

With our AI driven solutions and products, we can provide our customers with smart solutions capable of detecting events as they happen, searching through hours of footage with ease to find people and vehicles of interest, and helping reveal events that might otherwise be missed.

What is your company’s overall value proposition to installing security dealers/integrators? Why should they partner with your company?
Avigilon designs, develops and manufactures video analytics, artificial intelligence, network video management software and hardware, surveillance cameras and access control solutions. We provide end-to-end solutions that are easy to use, easy to install and fully scalable to grow with our customers’ changing needs.

We provide 24/7 customer service and technical support and our products are ONVIF compliant for third-party integration with existing camera systems.

Looking ahead at 2018, what do you see as some of the top opportunities in the marketplace? What about challenges?
The biggest challenge facing the industry today is that the volume of video data captured far exceeds the capacity of human attention to effectively search through that data. As such, the demand for video analytics is increasing globally. Through the power of artificial intelligence (AI), Avigilon is developing technologies and products that dramatically increase the effectiveness of security systems by focusing human attention on what matters most.
