Camden Leads The Way In No-Touch Technology!

The COVID-19 era has ushered in a new need for touchless door activation. Camden was already there!

Camden Leads The Way In No-Touch Technology!

Compliance with health & safety guidelines requires either eliminating manual door activation by hand or handle and replacing with an automated ‘no-touch’ solution or, when that isn’t possible, enabling the manual door activation to be done with another part of the body – such as the arm, elbow, hip, knee or foot – which is a ‘low-touch’ solution. Demand for no and low touch solutions has skyrocketed in the COVID-19 world, but Camden Door Controls has actually been developing and deploying them long before the pandemic.

We’ve invested heavily in no-touch technology, including motion sensors and wireless systems to eliminate the spread of germs, provide greater convenience for building occupants, and deliver enhanced ADA compliance for persons with disabilities.

Touchless Switches

Touchless/hands-free switches to activate automatic door operators or de-energize locking devices are in huge demand and will likely soon become more common than push plate switches. Camden’s SureWave™ family of touchless switches leads the industry in performance, quality and value and delivers innovative features unmatched by any other on the market. Our range of touchless switches have been designed to meet any application, and span battery operated units, fully wired units and everything in between.

Request-to-Exit Detectors

Passive infrared REX detectors are typically used to shunt an access control alarm when someone exits a door and can also facilitate door automation in a range of other applications. Camden’s award-winning CM-RQE70A REX detector features on-board programming buttons, with factory default operating modes, a secondary activation device input, door monitoring input, two relay outputs, and a tamper alarm output. It’s ideal for the control of electrified lock, such as an electric strike or magnetic lock.

Wireless Handheld Fobs

An alternative to installing a sensor device that will enable a door to open automatically is to provide each building occupant with a manual activation device that only they will use, such as a wireless key FOB. They’re typically used to prevent unauthorized building occupants from entering a doorway while ‘non-secure’ relay output receivers are designed to make it easier for any building occupant, including persons with disabilities, to enter a doorway. Camden’s CM-TXLF Series fobs are affordable and highly reliable activation devices to use in our fight to prevent the spread of germs. They’re available in 1, 2 and 4 button models, with raised ‘ADA Compliant’ buttons.

Access Control Card Readers

In this touchless age, Bluetooth™ enabled mobile credentials – software applications that turn a smart phone into a secure credential recognized by an access control system – are in high demand. Camden’s CV-7600-BLE mobile-ready card readers can be used with any access control system and  is compatible with Android™ and Apple iOS™ smartphones, with the software apps being easily downloaded online from Google Play™ or iStore™.

Low Touch’ Push Plate Switches

It’s not always necessary or even desirable to install a sensor, wireless receiver, or card reader to reduce the spread of germs. Any door activation device that can be operated without the need to touch the device with a hand can serve the same purpose. 36” tall push plate switches are a good alternative because they can be easily operated with an arm, elbow, hip or foot.

Camden’s 36” tall push plate Column™ switches reduce the spread of germs and are available in clear, dark bronze and blue anodized aluminum finishes or stainless steel, with a wide range of graphic options. They’re also available with the option for a battery operated ‘Lazerpoint RF™ wireless transmitter or ‘Kinetic™ no-battery wireless transmitter.
