Pelco Takes Pride in Toys for Tots
Pelco Inc. employees in Clovis, Calif., presented the U.S. Marine Corps with 141,934 toys that were distributed to needy children for the holidays as part of the Toys for Tots program — the largest donation drive of any company in the nation.
Pelco employees solicited 31,114 more toys that they did a year ago and nearly broke their record of 149,408 items donated in 2000. The toy donation program began among the employees in 1993 with just 808 toys and has grown into a major event not only in the company, but also in the Clovis community complete with a toy parade.
NAPCO Posts Link to Product Info
NAPCO Security Group Inc. has made it easier to access printable literature and specification sheets of its products through a new online library. The library, available at www.napcosecurity.com, contains specifications sheets and brochures in multiple languages, often including English, Portuguese, Italian, French and Spanish versions. Products are from all of NAPCO’s lines, including Alarm Lock and Continental Instruments. The printable documents are provided free of charge and 24 hours a day, and NAPCO says the library will be continuously updated.
Honeywell Pushes Security Presence Overseas by Acquiring Novar
Honeywell is acquiring Novar plc, parent company of Intelligent Building Systems (IBS), for $2.4 billion. The transaction is expected to close early this year.
IBS will be folded into Honeywell’s Automation and Control Solutions (ACS) division, which includes Honeywell Security. IBS, one of the leading security product suppliers in Europe and parts of southern Asia, supplies electrical, electronic and control products including burglar and fire alarm systems.
