Cypress Integrated Solutions Introduces OPTW-100 Wiegand Splitter
Cypress says since the OPTW-100 splitter supports 12V power input, it can be used in more installations without the need for a separate power supply.
Cypress Integrated Solutions has announced an upgraded OPTW-100 Wiegand Splitter.
LAPEER, Mich. — Cypress Integration Solutions, a manufacturer of access control and electronic security products, has released an upgraded version of its Passive Wiegand Splitter: the new OPTW-100 Wiegand splitter.
The Cypress OPTW-100 is an upgraded replacement for the discontinued CVX-OPTW, and the Mich.-based company points out the product can be powered with 5- to 16-volts DC.
Cypress Integration Solution explains the discontinued splitter was widely used in access control installations since it connected two Wiegand readers with one Wiegand port, or one Wiegand reader with two Wiegand panels that share the same data. The upgraded OPTW-100 Splitter functions the same way but offers an expanded power input range.
“Our Wiegand Splitter has been a very popular product, but the most common feedback we received was the desire to power the device with 12-volts DC. Customers told us in many installations 5-volts power was not available,” says Jacob LeRoy, customer support specialist, Cypress Integration Solutions. “Since the new OPTW-100 splitter supports 12V power input, it can be used in more installations without the need for a separate power supply.”
Cypress Integration Solutions adds that it is currently shipping orders for the upgraded OPTW-100 Passive Wiegand Splitter.
OPTW-100 Cypress Passive Wiegand Splitter Features
- Power input: 5-16 Vdc
- Can use 12Vdc Wiegand panel power output
- Wiegand input data lines are floating and accept data voltage of 5-24 Vdc
- Wiegand output data lines are floating; OPTW’s 5 Vdc pull-up resistors can be jumpered to Wiegand output data lines as needed
