ISC Las Vegas Exhibits Robust Appeal to Vendors, Attendees
LAS VEGAS — More than 25,000 electronic security professionals from around the world flocked en mass to the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas to attend ISC West from March 28-30.
Organizers report the record number of security dealers/installers, systems integrators and end users present during the show represented a 9-percent increase compared to 2006 attendance.
Along with its expanded exhibition floor space, the 2007 conference offered two concurrent niche shows under the ISC West umbrella. Urban Security featured exhibitors for security applications such as city and commercial property protection. And SmartHome@ISC, an inaugural event, focused on products and technologies for residential installers and home automation experts.
Per usual, the conference is used as a springboard to launch new products and services. Among the exhibitors attracting a lot of attention at their booths: ADI, Altronix, Bosch, GE, HID, Honeywell, NAPCO, Panasonic, Pelco and Speco.
Security Sales & Integration spoke with many vendors throughout the conference to gauge their satisfaction with the show, which attracted many senior level and business owner decision-makers. The great majority of manufacturer executives and representatives SSI spoke with echoed parallel sentiments of Steven Walin, CEO of GVI Security Solutions Inc., a provider of video security products based in Carrolton, Texas.
“The traffic through here has been incredible,” Walin says. “The people we are seeing are definitely motivated.”
